Aims

This is designed as a two-part course along with Engaging the Media Course 2 for corporate communications and PR staff, whose task is to upgrade their company's media profile and learn more about how to access the media.

Contents

  • Welcome by Tutor who outlines objectives and timetable and introduces team.
  • Talk providing: 
    • A background on the media and the forces driving them
    • How a company needs to prepare itself for engaging with the media.
    • Key messages both internal and external need developing or refining for media acceptance.
    • Each medium needs a different level of response, with the content and performance by the spokesperson changing accordingly
    • Choosing credible spokespeople from your company
  • 5 exercises
  • The training session ends with summing-up and a Q&A session.
